Harkin Store

Harkin Store was the social and economic center of a bustling community in the early 1870s. A successful farmer, postmaster and justice of the peace, Alexander Harkin served with integrity and business acumen which made his store an important part of late 19th-century life in the Minnesota River Valley.

A general store just like the fictional Ingalls family used to visit! Students are transported back in time by the natural surroundings and original inventory still on the shelves.
