The Minnesota Historical Society now has a program to provide students in Greater Minnesota the opportunity to experience hands-on history field trips to Twin Cities historic sites and museums in the 2012–13 school year.
These scholarships gives students living in greater Minnesota access to the Funding provided by the Elizabeth and Whitney MacMillan Education Fund.
- Schools may use the funds to offset transportation costs for field trips to any of these facilities: Minnesota History Center, Mill City Museum, James J. Hill House, Historic Fort Snelling/Sibley House, Alexander Ramsey House, and Oliver H. Kelley Farm.
- Schools may apply annually for this award; having received an award in a previous year does not make a school ineligible.
- Schools do not need to meet any Title I, Federal Free and Reduced Lunch, or other economic need requirements.
