Funding from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund has helped bring down the cost of Teacher Education workshop attendance!
Content and skills workshops are offered at a fee of $75. MHS members receive a $20 discount when they provide their membership number. In addition, the following subsidies will be provided to a limited number or attendees for each workshop (first come, first served):
- Substitute teacher reimbursement up to $100 (paid directly to the school district)
- Mileage reimbursement for those traveling more than 50 miles round trip
- Hotel reimbursement up to $100 for those traveling more than 200 miles round trip
These subsidies are meant to assist teachers who have limited access to professional development funding. Preference will be given to those who would be otherwise unable to attend.
Teachers may register for as many workshops as they wish to attend, but can only receive subsidies for one workshop during the 2012-2013 school year. No more than two teachers from a given school can apply for subsidies for the same workshop. Subsidies do not apply to History Day workshops.
A confirmation e-mail containing subsidy application instructions will be sent to all registrants once their online registration has been processed. MHS Teacher Education Staff will then be in touch with those eligible for subsidies in order to complete the process.
Made possible by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on November 4, 2008. Administered by the Minnesota Historical Society.
