The following subsidies are available for our Northern Lights workshops on a first-come, first-served basis. Teachers attending multiple MNHS workshops may only apply for subsidies for 1 workshop in a school year.
- Substitute teacher reimbursement up to $100 (paid directly to the school or district as indicated by registrant)
- Mileage reimbursement up to $75 for those traveling more than 50 miles round trip
- Hotel reimbursement up to $100 for those traveling more than 200 miles round trip
These subsidies are meant to assist teachers who have limited access to professional development funding. Preference will be given to those who would be otherwise unable to attend.
Teachers may register for as many workshops as they wish to attend, but can only receive subsidies for one workshop during the 2016-2017 school year. No more than two teachers from a given school can apply for subsidies for the same workshop. Subsidies do not apply to History Day workshops or free workshops (such as Colonial Williamsburg or Sources and Scholars).
A confirmation e-mail containing subsidy application instructions will be sent to all registrants once their online registration has been processed. MNHS Teacher Education staff will then be in touch with those eligible for subsidies in order to complete the process.
