Superintendent
Sept. 10, 1922
Dear
Sir:
I wish to inform you I’ve lost my work.
Saturday night after
my work was don, I dressed up to come home, and went to the house. Mr and Mrs
Thompson were quarling (sic), so I was going to wait until they were done, I
went a little way from the door, where their boys were fixing the car,
II
Mr Thompson came out and saw me dressed up, and said “Are you going in
too?” I said yes, I was going to tell him, I needed a pair of shoes, and a
pair of pants, but did not get time, he said you might as well take your time
with you. He said, young man you are breaking your parole, I told him I did not
think so, as my papers says, he should

have it fixed so that I may attend to my religious services. My pastor urged
me to attend to the Sunday service. I wished to do it, and I know it was
possible fore (sic) him to do so. I will look fore (sic) work here Monday &
Tues. and Mr. Selfversten is going to helm me.
If I should not find work I
will go to my Uncle and will notify you. I’m trying to make good my
parole
