Gilbert H. Stephenson 6598 Jan. 28, 1921
Convicted of Riot which was in connection with the lynching of
two negroes at Duluth, Minn. These negroes were alleged to have assaulted a
white girl and were placed in jail. A mob formed and the negroes were taken from
the jail and lynched.

No record of previous convictions. Had been steadily
employed and at the time of arrest was employed as truck driver for Bloom &
Company. Do not as yet have man letter relative to his past life but what
information we have is to the effect that he was industrious and had no trouble
up to this time.
Single. Mother dead. Father living at Duquette, Minn.
Three brother living at Duluth, on now at Moose Lake, Minn. Five sisters all
married and living in different parts of the state.
Second
grade.
Conduct and disposition uniformly
good.
Has not been here sufficient length of time to become
eligible for parole.
Will be eligible in February 1922. Have no recommendations to make.
