Max Mason 6785 August 8, 1921
Convicted of rape. Was one of the negroes implicated in the
ravishing of a girl in Duluth which resulted in the lynching of two or three of
them and in the riot which at Duluth in 1921
William Miller, Louis
Hayes, Frank Spicer, Clarence Green, L. Williams and Nate
Gray.
Served thirty days on Workfarm at Louisville, Ky. Information
received cover his time will and speak will of him. Kept steadily employed,
spoken of as honest and associates not bad for one of his class.
Single. Parents dead. One brother and two sisters living in
Alabama.
First grade.
Conduct and disposition uniformly
good.
General health good.
Application denied for fourth time in March last. Again eligible in September. Have no recommendations to make.
