Our Home, Limited Edition Product Series Debuts at Native American Music and Arts Festival

ONAMIA, Minn. (August 21, 2024) – An annual celebration of Native American culture returns to the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post on September 1. This year, the Native American Music and Arts Festival will also serve as the launch of an exclusive limited edition series that honors Native American Minnesota artists and their enduring presence and connection to the land. 

The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) will collaborate with a different artist each year to develop a limited-edition collaborative product line. The series is called Our Home: Native Minnesota, in connection with the exhibit at the Minnesota History Center. 

In the initial year, MNHS is featuring Fond du Lac artist Sarah Agaton Howes of Heart Berry. The line includes clothing, mugs, bags, and stickers with traditional Ojibwe floral designs. The first chance to purchase the new line will be at the festival. The product line will be available on the Minnesota Historical Society’s website and at MNHS sites and museums across the state on November 1 to honor Native American Heritage Month. 

The Native American Music and Arts Festival is a free event, with opportunities to listen and learn from more than two dozen artists and demonstrators, who will be sharing information about their artwork and what goes into making it. There will be live music from Keith Secola, an Ojibwe-American musician who plays rock and folk, along with performances by several Native American musicians.
