Training/Experience: Conservators serving individuals and institutions to care for the things that they treasure. This includes conservation treatments of paintings, objects and composite materials, collections care consultations, presentations, and more.

Notes: Maggie Hill-Kipling is an art conservator with an MS in Art Conservation from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation and a BA in Anthropology and Museum Studies from Beloit College in Wisconsin. She began her conservation career treating easel paintings and contemporary murals in Los Angeles, CA, and then spent the bulk of her career in Tucson, AZ, where she conducted collection condition surveys, implemented and advised on storage, rehousing, and move projects, and treated a wide variety of historic, archaeological, and Native American cultural materials for the Arizona State Museum, the University of Arizona, and the National Park Service. She has also worked on the conservation of archeological artifacts at active excavations in Guatemala and Turkey, and performed conservation treatments on historic, archaeological, decorative art, fine art objects, and paintings for private clients and at institutions including the Phoenix Museum of Art, the Huhugam Heritage Center, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of Northern Arizona. Maggie was awarded a Professional Associate designation by the American Institute of Conservation in 2016. Melissa Amundsen earned a MA in Art Conservation, specializing in Painting Conservation, from SUNY Buffalo State College, and a BA in studio art from the University of Minnesota. She has worked at a variety of institutions including the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Midwest Art Conservation Center, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Field Museum, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Melissa has performed a wide variety of conservation treatments on paintings and objects, has advised on preventive conservation, is a certified CAP (Collections Assessment for Preservation) assessor and performs other grant-funded general preservation assessments.
