Connect with History Day youths and invite others to join you in this unique opportunity. National History Day in Minnesota provides 25,000 6th to 12th-grade students with an opportunity to develop real-world skills and abilities. Volunteer judges have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young lives.
Judges give feedback, inspire students to improve their work, and learn from students' research. History Day judges select projects to advance from the regional to state and national events. Regional events are held across the state in March.
Training is provided. All event judges will receive an orientation on the day of the event prior to judging. However, the judges' workshop will allow you to:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the judging criteria
- Meet experienced judges and past student participants
- Ask questions about the judging process
More about judging History Day.
When you volunteer to be a History Day judge, everybody wins. More than 500 regional event judges are needed throughout the month of March and all around the state. And 200 judges are needed for the State History Day.
