Survey Data Collector

Volunteers are needed to help us conduct a survey to visitors at the Snake River Fur Post State Historic Site. The survey will evaluate the visitor experience, who is visiting, and what motivated them to visit. This information will help us identify areas for improvement in our visitor experiences.

Service Summary:

  • Conduct visitor intercept surveys at the Snake River Fur Post State Historic Site
  • Follow data collection protocols
  • Interact with visitors
  • Accurately record visitors' survey responses

Time Commitment: 
Volunteers should be willing to commit to a minimum of ten (10) six-hour shifts on Fridays or Saturdays from July - August. Shifts occur from 9:45AM - 3:45PM.

Survey Data Collectors should be:

  • Friendly, outgoing, and service-oriented.

  • Excellent listening skills.

  • Interest in talking to people of all ages about a wide range of topics.

  • Strong verbal communication skills.

  • Able to put people at ease and maintain clear and positive communication in sometimes chaotic surroundings.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow data collection protocols systematically, without deviation.

  • Able to collect data for six hour shifts.

Training:
No previous experience is necessary. Attendance at a twenty minute training session is required for new survey volunteers and encouraged for returning survey volunteers. Training will occur onsite. 

Dress: Business casual. A MNHS Volunteer Services shirt and nametag will be provided for you. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
