Jennifer Jones

Associate Executive Director

Through her various roles at the Minnesota Historical Society, Jennifer Jones has developed and pursued a passion for making Minnesota’s history available to people of the state.

Jennifer began her career at the Minnesota Historical Society as the head of collections in 2006. In 2012, she was promoted to the position of director of library collections and has held a number of leadership positions before being promoted to her current position of associate executive director in 2020. 

Prior to joining MNHS, Jennifer worked at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in archaeology, research, and library positions. She was the project director for the Colonial Williamsburg Digital Library, and she founded the Digital History Center at the Foundation’s John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Library to pursue digital humanities projects. Jennifer has a B.A. in History from the University of Iowa and an M.A. in American History with specialization in Historical Archaeology from the College of William and Mary.
