History Day is a large project for students to take on. This page can help you find additional project resources that may be helpful along the way.

Students 

History Day will require you to dig deep into history, and present your information in a smooth and engaging way. The good news is that, because you get to chose your own topic and chose one of five categories in which to present your information, History Day can also be a lot of fun.

In doing your project, you're going to find yourself learning or expanding upon your academic and personal skills. When the project becomes challenging, that's when this website will become the place for you. We have project timelines, competition details, contact information, FAQs, and more. If the goal of History Day is for you to connect with history in a way you haven't before, then our goal is make sure you have the resources you need for success. See below for information on how to get started.

Parents 

As the parent or caring adult of a History Day student, you will have the opportunity to witness the unfolding of a History Day project and see your child become a historian. Parents are often asked to save the day, whether by providing transportation to events, solving technology crises, or helping a frantic student complete the annotated bibliography.

Whatever the role, parents are a vital part of the History Day experience. If you're new to the program, learn more about the History Day, and the academic and personal benefits of doing a History Day project.

Please note that teachers can adapt History Day to meet their classroom needs. Requirements, deadlines, and grading rubrics will vary across classrooms. Questions about your student's project or about the school-level competition should be directed to their teacher. If you have questions about Regional, State, or National level competitions, or about project rules, contact a member of the History Day staff.
